To further its mission of advancing health and performance globally by leading the WorkPlace Wellness Alliance of multinational companies – created by the World Economic Forum – IHPM has established the Vital Leadership WorkPlace Center.

Economist and founder of the World Economic Forum, Klaus Schwab, describes the kind of vital leadership behaviors of leaders needed in our world today:

We need leaders who are emotionally intelligent and able to model and champion cooperative working They’ll coach, rather than command; they’ll be driven by empathy, not ego. The digital revolution needs different, more humankind Leadership.” (2013)

The purpose of this new Workplace Center, created by IHPM in partnership with Vital Leadership and Teamalytics, is to help companies achieve better health and productivity outcomes by improving the leadership behaviors of their managers. It extends IHPM’s service to employers beyond training and certification in the professional discipline of health and productivity management, provided by its Academy, to help leadership fully engage and motivate people to perform at their highest level.

Mission of the Vital Leadership WorkPlace Center: to develop and advance leadership principles and behaviors that fully value and widely promote total employee health and wellbeing – evidenced by higher levels of engagement, motivation and performance that can be measured and replicated.

Objectives of the Vital Leadership WorkPlace Center:

  • Promote a model for transforming traditional hierarchical leadership into modern servant leadership;
  • Inspire adoption of more servant leadership principles as a mindset, and share examples from such transformational leaders
  • Provide resources – consultation, training, coaching, tools and metrics – to build a skillset to turn these principles into practices
