Providing Usable Resources for Improving Metabolic Health
The Workplace Center™ for Metabolic Health, developed in 2004, is a division of IHPM, with Novo Nordisk as the lead sponsor. The center’s mission is to improve health, productivity, and quality of life by applying evidence-based best practices for the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of metabolic syndrome and its related medical conditions—obesity, diabetes, hypertension, dyslipidemias, and renal disease. The center has implemented worksite interventions to reduce metabolic risk factors and lost productivity, measured their effectiveness, and published the results in peer-reviewed journals. To better understand the science and total cost burden of obesity, as well as access resources to help manage it as a chronic disease, go to novonordiskworks.com — a site built to help employers better understand the burden of obesity and how to support chronic weight management for their employees. The site includes obesity education, worksite strategic planning, and measurement tools & resources.
